The Multnomah County District Attorneys Office is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as an Office Assistant 2 (OA2). This is an essential entry-level role in our legal administrative staff structure and it serves as a foundational entry point into a meaningful and mission-driven career. Many of our higher-level legal assistants and operations supervisors began as OA2s and we are committed to building a high-quality well-trained and capable workforce by investing in the development of our staff from day one.

As an OA2 in the Multnomah County District Attorneys Office you will become part of one of Oregons most visible and impactful public law offices. You will be part of a team of attorneys and staff who work every day to serve the public support victims of crime and pursue justice. Whether youre managing sensitive documents assisting the public or supporting attorneys and legal staff your work will have a direct impact on the efficiency fairness and integrity of our operations. Our ideal candidates are detail-oriented adaptable and eager to growpeople who want to make a difference and who understand that professionalism accuracy and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced legal environment.

Were currently looking to fill positions located at the Central Courthouse 1200 SW 1st Avenue Suite #5200 Portland Oregon.

This recruitment will be used to fill multiple positions. Below are examples of the types of OA2 positions in our office including those may be filled through this recruitment.

SUBPOENA CLERK: Almost every unit in the District Attorneys Office has a subpoena clerk. The clerk sends out hundreds of subpoenas weekly to victims & witnesses to notify them of trial or grand jury dates.

DISCOVERY CLERK: The Discovery Unit is responsible for preparing police reports and other criminal case records for distribution to defense attorneys.

RECORDS/DOCKET CLERK: The Records/Docket Clerk is responsible for managing the organization of case files and ensuring case files are made available to Deputy District Attorneys for each days court proceedings.

INTAKE CLERK: The Misdemeanor Trial Unit is responsible for receiving misdemeanor cases from local police agencies. Intake clerks enter cases into our case management system so that they can be reviewed by a Deputy District Attorney and make their way through the case resolution process.

RECEPTIONIST: There are several receptionist positions throughout our office. These positions are found in the Central Courthouse East County Courthouse Juvenile Detention Center and Justice Center. Receptionists are primarily responsible for greeting & assisting the public by phone & in-person.

Type of Position: This hourly union-represented position is eligible for overtime.
