Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Support Direct Care Staff: The Floating Supervisor ensures that direct support staff are providing adequate care and following established policies and procedures.
  • Provide Direct Care: May assist with residents daily activities including personal care medication management and leisure activities.
  • Maintain Resident Records: Ensures accuracy and compliance of resident records.
  • Manage Home Operations: May be responsible for tasks such as meal planning grocery shopping maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a safe environment.
  • Financial Management: May assist with budget management and tracking expenses.
  • Crisis Management: May be called upon to respond to emergencies and ensure the safety of residents and staff.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicates effectively with staff residents families and other stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: May participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Compliance: Ensures that the group home adheres to relevant regulations and standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Identifies and resolves issues that arise in the group home.
  • Maintain good attendance ethical behavior and demonstrate ability to successfully fulfill the duties of a direct care staff.
  • Demonstrate ability to apply active treatment principles including Behavior Management and be able to communicate these principles with a clear and obvious understanding.
  • Utilizes H.E.L.P. (including therapeutic holds) when it is determined that a resident is a danger to self or others; also performs basic First Aid and/or CPR when needed.
  • Complete training and will be expected to pass testing in the following areas: H.E.L.P (de-escalation and therapeutic holds) Medication Certification First Aid/CPR Blood Borne Pathogens Safety Health Emergency and Disaster (SHED) Safety Safe Vehicle Operations Safety Data Sheet (SDS) HIPPA Professional Care Giver and AWAREs Behavioral Competency (ABC).
  • Utilizes and accurately records data using AWAREs Electronic Medical Records System as assigned outlined and trained.

Requirements


Talents skills and abilities:

  • Ability to under AWAREs Unconditional Care Philosophy implement individual support plans with the knowledge of behavioral techniques interventions skill building techniques and understanding of the emotional and behavioral needs of individuals diagnosed a developmental disability.
  • Requires computer literacy skills including the ability to navigate record and overall basic computer skills needed for performance-based software as well as an electronic medical records system.
  • The Floating Residential Specialist must have the interpersonal oral and written communications skills to work as a team member to make observations and to report them accurately to learn resident care methods and to follow oral and written instructions.
  • At least three (3) years of experience is required and/or an associate degree in a Human Services field or minimum of a bachelors degree in any field and minimum of two years of appropriate and related experience in Human Services.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Montana Drivers License. Must have an acceptable driving record; as well as an acceptable criminal and protective services background check.
