Job Description
Medical Technologist II: Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca (Ithaca NY) seeks a Medical Technologist II (multiple positions). Responsible for analyzing and testing specimens including proficiency testing and manual procedures and reporting appropriately according to protocol; operating maintaining and troubleshooting complex equipment; utilizing complex information systems collecting and interpreting data; performing and interpreting quality control; maintaining a compliant environment including adherence to all lab and hospital procedures NYS TJC HIPAA standards infection control and safety guidelines; participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities and maintain inter-and intra-departmental work flow by cooperating with others; maintain adequate inventory and conserve resources; maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Medical Technology valid NY license as Medical Technologist or Clinical Lab Scientist by American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) 2 years of work experience as Medical Technologist.
