The Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides psychotherapy for patients in Womans Behavioral Health Clinic in collaboration with the Psychiatrist under the direct supervision of the Physician Practice Management. This position also works closely with physicians nursing and allied health staff community agencies and volunteers.
Patient populations of the Behavioral health clinic include but are not limited to:
- OB patients age 18 or over
- Patients experiencing stillbirths miscarriages ectopic pregnancy or infant death
- GYN patients with expressed needs
- Patients newly diagnosed with cancer
- Patients within the Womans Behavioral Health clinic who require individualized psychotherapy services for serious mental illness such as anxiety depression or trauma which may or may not be within the context of pregnancy or postpartum fetal or infant loss cancer treatment and obstetric or gynecology patients with expressed needs.
Requirements:
- A masters degree from an accredited school of social work
- A minimum of one year of prior experience performing therapy
- Current and unencumbered LCSW license in the state of Louisiana
- Experience in individual and group outpatient therapy strongly preferred
Responsibilities of the Social Worker include but are not limited to:
- Conducts comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate patients mental health status strengths challenges and identify social determinants and barriers preventing long term wellness.
- Develop rapport and collaborate with patients families and the treatment team to develop individualized treatment plans that address mental health goals including crisis intervention and long-term care planning.
- Provide individual and group counseling to patients addressing issues such as depression anxiety substance misuse trauma and coping strategies.
Coordinate and monitor the delivery of mental health services ensuring that patients have access to necessary outpatient resources including therapy follow up appointments and medication. - Advocate for patients rights and needs within the mental health system legal system and community ensuring they receive appropriate care and support.
Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety. - Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions treatment options and strategies for managing symptoms and achieving recovery.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records documenting assessments treatment plans progress and outcomes in compliance with legal and ethical standards. - Connect patients with community resources support groups and services that can assist in their recovery and improve their overall quality of life.
Work closely with psychiatrists nurses occupational therapists and other mental health professionals within Womans Hospital and the community collaborating on the patients treatment needs - Adhere to ethical standards and principles of social work ensuring that patient confidentiality and autonomy are respected.
Participates on internal committees and work groups as assigned. - Perform other duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Womans Hospital.

Most Fridays 7:30am -2pm

$27.72 - $40.19 based on experience
