Job Description

Rochester Community and Technical College is accepting applications for an Unlimited Full-time Instructor of Accounting faculty position. This position will become unlimited upon completion of the required probationary period.

Duties Include:

  • Deliver on campus and online lecture and class instruction.

  • Participate in department and college curriculum development.

  • Conduct classroom assessment and evaluation activities.

  • Participate in committee assignments and college-wide initiatives.

  • Engage in professional development activities.

  • Advocate on behalf of students program and college.

Salary Range:

The Salary range for this position is $43067 - $94542. Salary is dependent on education and experience in accordance with the Minnesota State College Faculty MSCF bargaining agreement (available on the Minnesota State website). The State of Minnesota also offers a comprehensive benefits package including low cost medical and dental insurance employer paid life insurance- short- and long-term disability pre-tax flexible spending accounts retirement plan tax-deferred compensation generous vacation and sick leave and 11 paid holidays each year.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree in accounting or a masters degree in any field with a minimum of 16 graduate semester credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in accounting or bachelors degree in accounting or finance and a CPA or CMA certificate

  • Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in accounting.

Preferred Qualification

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or other accounting related licenses such as Certified Internal Auditor.

  • Have post-secondary experience in teaching Accounting classes using a variety of delivery methodologies.

  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and assessment of student learning outcomes including experience implementing active learning strategies such as simulations case studies and community-based projects to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

  • Experience in work-based learning and collaboration with the community in creating experiential learning opportunities.

  • Demonstrative ability to work effectively with a student population encompassing a broad range of skill levels.

  • Demonstrated commitment to institutional service and leadership including active participation in initiatives that enhance the colleges academic environment student success and/or community partnerships.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Expectations Of Faculty

A faculty members work assignment includes a number of diverse professional responsibilities. Classroom teaching and other contacts with students form the core of the faculty work assignment. Additionally professional development and service to the college are the other core components of a faculty members work assignment. A faculty member will plan to engage in such activities as: student advising course evaluation classroom preparation the evaluation of student performance committee assignments classroom research and community service as part of overall work assignment.
