LOCATION: 5350 NE Dawson Creek Dr. Hillsboro OR 97124
TITLE: Staff Scientist Research & Development
HOURS: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
DUTIES: Design and perform simulations of FIB columns including charged particle simulations electrical requirement analysis high voltage and electromagnetic fields design and analysis mechanical design analysis vacuum design and material selection.
Develop testing and characterization methods to validate FIB performance.
Develop and maintain in-house software tools to simulate and characterize FIB columns.
Work with multi-functional engineering groups to develop FIB columns-related products.
Maintain extensive knowledge of innovative principles and theories of charged particle optics and systems including ion and electron columns and sources.
Lead and manage small-sized ion columns and sources.
Lead and manage small-sized ion columns development projects.
Participate in the development of patent applications.
Provide company-wide technical support for ion columns.
TRAVEL: Up to 15% domestic and international travel required.
REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree or foreign degree equivalent in Electronic Engineering Physics or a related field of study plus 6 years of experience in Systems Design Product Engineering or related experience. Employer will also accept a PhD or foreign degree equivalent in Electronic Engineering Physics or a related field of study plus 3 years of experience in Systems Design Product Engineering or related experience as an equivalent alternative.
Required knowledge or experience with:
Design simulation and operation of charged particle beam systems;
FIB and SEM columns;
Ion and electron sources including plasma sources;
Using and troubleshooting laboratory equipment including electronics high voltage and vacuum systems;
Python C C and numerical methods; and
Scientific programming and lab hands-on skills.
