Role: Technical Consultant

Location: Birmingham or Belfast in line with our Agile Working Policy. You will need to be able to work from either the Birmingham or Belfast office 2 days per week/office to be attended as often as business needs require.

What we need...

Due to a period of sustained growth we are looking to recruit a Technical Consultant to join our Professional Services team supporting the delivery of specialist land referencing projects and land and property services to high profile clients undertaking major business process infrastructure and regeneration development projects.

The Technical Consultant is responsible for ensuring the quality of deliverables for both the customer and the business supporting the achievement of company objectives in line with the business plan. This role provides technical expertise training and quality assurance to the Head of Technical Services/Professional Services as well as to Programme and Project Managers throughout the delivery of production and client-facing activities.

The Technical Consultant has responsibility for the technical delivery of a portfolio of projects in compliance of TerraQuests standards and systems.

What you will be doing

  • Ensuring that all projects are operated to the highest levels of quality & compliance in line with defined standards procedures and TerraQuests Business Management System and meet customer quality expectations.
  • Liaising with the Project Board to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project.
  • Providing training to the project team(s) ensuring all members have the appropriate skills to perform allocated tasks.
  • Measuring reporting and advising on technical quality of service deliverables.
  • Managing client relationships through the project life cycle ensuring expectations are managed whilst protecting and enhancing the companys reputation.
  • Ensuring the business meets its contractual requirements to its clients and maintains a customer advocacy rating of excellent.
  • Delivering operational excellence through a right first-time approach whilst maintaining high productivity efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring that a healthy and safe working environment is prevalent at all times in line with the Business Management Systems and external accreditations
  • Maintaining current and accurate technical information for which they will report at agreed intervals on a project-by-project basis including:
    • Quality
    • Technical Risks and Issues
  • Supporting project closure activities including documenting Lessons Learned and Follow-on Action Recommendations.
  • Working with the business development team to maintain client relationships beyond the project lifecycle to achieve the highest level of repeat business.
  • Supporting the creation and development of business opportunities and new initiatives to meet current and future business needs including pre-sales support as required.

What we are looking for

Qualities and Skills Required

Essential

The ideal candidate should possess a degree or equivalent relevant to the business and have a minimum of 12 months of experience in land assembly/land referencing/customer engagement within a similar environment. They must be adept at influencing and empowering project team members to meet objectives collaboratively and have strong skills in monitoring and controlling project budgets. The candidate should be capable of supporting large and diverse project workload demonstrate proven leadership and motivational abilities and exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills. They should be confident in managing difficult customers to achieve positive outcomes detail-oriented and able to work under strict deadlines within a team.

A focus on accuracy productivity efficiency and effectiveness is essential.

Desirable

It is highly desirable for you to have a good understanding of geography land law and estate management.
