Under general supervision the Senior Community Director (SCD) is a full-time live-in professional position responsible for the daily operation of a co-ed residential community housing primarily traditional-aged college students from significantly diverse backgrounds. The incumbents main purpose is to promote student success through a variety of activities.

  • Leads Assistant Community Directors and Resident Advisor staff and in some cases other student staff members; advises groups and individuals.
  • Identifies students with leadership ability and/or potential and advances the use and development of their potential; identifies student interests and assesses personal social and leadership skills.
  • Serve as a conduct officer in the Office of Student Housing conduct process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • One year of job-related non-paid experience may be substituted for the one year of general experience required. Masters degree in Student Affairs Counseling or a job-related field is preferred.
