Support the Executive Director of the Albert Schweitzer Institute (ASI) in managing community garden(s) in Hamden that help to address food security needs in the community
Coordinate student faculty staff and community volunteers to plant weed water and harvest in the garden(s)
Assist with programming in the garden to include programming for children and neighbors of the garden and participants in Keefe Community Center programs.
Assist the Executive Director of the ASI in communication with the Keefe Community Center the Hamden Food Security Task Force and other community partners.
Tend to plants in the pollinator garden vegetable garden and herb garden at the Albert Schweitzer Institute (watering weeding etc.)
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects.
Good interpersonal skills; strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated interest in gardening food security community action.
Ability to manage own transportation to work sites.
Hours of Position:
Flexible morning hours preferred for community garden work.
