REPORTS TO: School Leader
SUPERVISES: Co-Teachers providing targeted support
PURPOSE: To support teachers in providing quality instruction to studentsin accordance withtheMontessoriphilosophy andthe North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Effective planning and assessment of Math/Reading curriculum grades K-12.
Provides support to teachers in assisting students who are identified as at risktohelpstudentsperform at grade level.
Works with teachers to develop materials and lesson plans.
Conducts informal classroomobservations.
Provides quality feedback to teachers on effective instruction which includes making learning goals clear to the students using appropriate instructional and questioning strategies.
Usesinnovative approaches to increase student learning and confidence to learn.
Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement.
Collaborates with identified teachers who share at-risk students served and develops a transition plan between theinterventionplan and the regular classroom.
Maintain data and documentation as appropriate.
Participate in school-wide professional development and seek continual feedback and coaching to develop as a teacher
Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
This position could be part or full time. Salary is based upon years of experience degree and average hours worked per year. Salary range for full time is $50882.20 - $76160.30.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Experience with MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support)
Masters degree or bachelors degree with at least three years of experience.
North Carolina Teaching License Elementary K-6 and Math 6-9 or ELA 6-9
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE
AMS/AMI Montessori Certification
Experience working in a Montessori setting
