About the Role
Ready to kick your career into gear Thiess is on the lookout for a skilled and safety-focused Tyre Fitter to join our team on a permanent full-time basis at the QCoal Northern Hub an open-cut coal mining project just 10 minutes south of Collinsville in the Bowen Basin.
Reporting to the Tyre Supervisor youll be a key player in keeping our fleet moving working hands-on with some of the biggest equipment in mining.
Your day-to-day will include:
Removing and fitting rims and wheel assemblies on heavy earthmoving equipment
Refitting and maintaining tyres to the highest safety standards
Performing regular tyre pressure checks adjustments and reports
Using technical manuals bulletins and computer-based systems to guide your work
Proactively identifying issues before they become problems
Following all site procedures to ensure safety and compliance
About You
Were looking for someone who brings experience precision and a passion for getting the job done right.
To be successful youll have:
A minimum of 2 years experience as a tyre fitter (mining or heavy earthmoving preferred)
- Hold current AUR21920 Cert II in Automotive Tyre Servicing or AURKTJ011 & AURKTJ012
A HR drivers licence (preferred but not essential)
Solid post-trade experience in the mining heavy earthmoving or hydraulic excavator industries
A proactive safety-first attitude and strong teamwork skills
