TITLE: Associate Director Investment Banking LatAm

DUTIES: Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. seeks Associate Director Investment Banking LatAm in New York NY to assist Directors and Managing Directors in leading the Investment Banking business line by conceptualizing developing and implementing initiatives to address the strategic challenges of aligning industry and Bank needs in Latin America. Leverages the Banks product capabilities building global industry specialization in key sectors and driving growth in Latin America. Assists the Group with the generation and evaluation of M&A opportunities. Leads multiple transactions coordination / execution with direct client accountability leading coordination of technical due diligence of companies including assessment of operations development plans capital and operating costs key risks and upside potential. Assists clients in evaluation of potential acquisitions and leads day-to-day execution of transactions. Advises clients in preparing data and presentations for sell-side processes and leads day-to-day execution of transactions. Manages transaction timelines and coordination with product and industry teams. Recruits manages evaluates and coaches junior bankers on financial modeling process structure industry dynamics among others.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Economics Finance or a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing experience with Investment Banking or Mergers & Acquisitions; utilizing experience in industries including working with regulatory frameworks industry dynamics and key players throughout Latin America; utilizing experience with tax systems of Chile Colombia Peru and Mexico including impact of cross-border acquisitions; performing financial analysis and accounting including preparing and presenting analysis to senior client members and managing multiple live mandates and pitches; utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel for modeling including building three-statement financial models with debt tax working capital capital expenditure and dividend schedules. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting must report to work site. 25% travel required internationally. Fluency in Spanish required. Offered salary is between $275000 and $275000 per year. 40 hours per week.
