Job Description

Position Summary:

Seeking a dynamic student-centered STEM educator to teach Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses at the middle school level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in STEM education experience or training in PLTW curriculum and a passion for engaging students in hands-on project-based learning that prepares them for college careers and beyond.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver PLTW curriculum modules such as Design & Modeling Automation & Robotics App Creators or other middle school offerings.

  • Facilitate engaging inquiry-based instruction aligned with PLTW and state standards.

  • Use technology and engineering tools (e.g. 3D printers robotics kits coding platforms) to enhance student learning.

  • Create a classroom environment that promotes creativity collaboration and problem-solving.

  • Monitor student progress provide feedback and assess performance using a variety of formative and summative assessments.

  • Maintain accurate student records grades and documentation.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in STEM and other disciplines to support cross-curricular initiatives and school-wide goals.

  • Attend required PLTW Core Training and maintain certification.

  • Participate in professional development and school meetings as required.

  • Communicate effectively with students parents and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in STEM education engineering computer science or a related field (required).

  • Valid State teaching license with appropriate endorsement (e.g. Science Technology Engineering Math) (required).

  • PLTW certification or willingness to complete PLTW Core Training (preferred).

  • Experience teaching middle school students (preferred).

  • Strong classroom management skills and a student-focused mindset.

  • Proficiency with educational technology and STEM tools.

  • Passion for STEM education and innovative teaching practices.

  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Collaborative reflective and committed to continuous professional growth.

Working Conditions:

  • Classroom setting with access to lab and technology resources.

  • May involve lifting materials and equipment (up to 25 lbs.).

  • Some after-school responsibilities and professional development required.
