You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailSeeking a dynamic student-centered STEM educator to teach Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses at the middle school level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in STEM education experience or training in PLTW curriculum and a passion for engaging students in hands-on project-based learning that prepares them for college careers and beyond.
Deliver PLTW curriculum modules such as Design & Modeling Automation & Robotics App Creators or other middle school offerings.
Facilitate engaging inquiry-based instruction aligned with PLTW and state standards.
Use technology and engineering tools (e.g. 3D printers robotics kits coding platforms) to enhance student learning.
Create a classroom environment that promotes creativity collaboration and problem-solving.
Monitor student progress provide feedback and assess performance using a variety of formative and summative assessments.
Maintain accurate student records grades and documentation.
Collaborate with colleagues in STEM and other disciplines to support cross-curricular initiatives and school-wide goals.
Attend required PLTW Core Training and maintain certification.
Participate in professional development and school meetings as required.
Communicate effectively with students parents and staff.
Bachelors degree in STEM education engineering computer science or a related field (required).
Valid State teaching license with appropriate endorsement (e.g. Science Technology Engineering Math) (required).
PLTW certification or willingness to complete PLTW Core Training (preferred).
Experience teaching middle school students (preferred).
Strong classroom management skills and a student-focused mindset.
Proficiency with educational technology and STEM tools.
Passion for STEM education and innovative teaching practices.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Collaborative reflective and committed to continuous professional growth.
Classroom setting with access to lab and technology resources.
May involve lifting materials and equipment (up to 25 lbs.).
Some after-school responsibilities and professional development required.
