A Civil Engineering Assistant is responsible for the following essential functions:
Requirements to Qualify:
A bachelors degree or higher* from an accredited college or university with specialization in a civil engineering curriculum approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). **

License:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Membership in professional organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers American Public Works Association American Water Works Association City and County Engineers Association etc. is encouraged.
Physical Class:**To receive credit for your education include a copy of your official diploma official transcript or letter/certificate from an accredited institution within five (5) business days of filing your application. The document should show the date the degree was conferred and be in English; if it is in a foreign language it must be translated and evaluated for equivalency to U.S. standards. Acceptable proof includes a copy of official or unofficial transcripts or a verification letter from the current school administration office which reflects academic standing and area of specialization at the time of filing or within 5 business days from the date of filing application. This examination will consist of a multiple-choice and/or simulation assessment worth 100% assessing:
You must meet the requirements and achieve a passing score of 70% or higher in order to be placed on the eligible register.
MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND SIMULATION ASSESSMENTS ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.NO PERSON MAY COMPETE IN THIS EXAMINATION MORE THAN ONCE EVERY TWELVE (12) MONTHS.
