Sports Medicine Program Assistant
Reports To:
Van Buren Tech Administration
Job Goal(s):
The primary job of the Sports Medicine Program assistant is to assist the instructor with dailyskill demonstration instruction and assessment. Additional responsibilities include inventorycontrol equipment/supply setup and tear downs equipment maintenance stocking andordering necessary supplies for the program.

Placement on current specialized program assistant salary schedule
Hours to Work:
7 hours per day

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma Required; Associates Degree preferred
Certification:
BLS Instructor Certification
Experience:
- Minimum two years experience in Athletic Training Exercise Science Kinesiology Sports Medicine or a related field and previous experience working with high school students is preferred.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Safety mindset.
- Ability to assist with technical and academic instruction in sports medicine topics.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the lead instructor with lesson plan implementation and classroom activities.
- Support students in hands-on learning experiences related to sports medicine including treatment planning patient management motor/sensory skills kinesiology taping and rehabilitation.
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students needing extra help with academic and technical skills.
- Help prepare materials and equipment for daily class activities and practical demonstrations.
- Monitor and maintain a safe and supportive classroom and lab environment.
- Aid in the supervision of students during clinical practice and fieldwork.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as grading record-keeping and classroom management.
- Valid drivers license required.
Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van BurenBoard of Education.
