The Henry Warren Schoolis seeking a dedicated creative and compassionateEnglish Language Learner Teacher to join our elementary school team. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports academic social and emotional growth. This teacher will deliver high-quality instruction aligned with district and state standards while differentiating for diverse learning needs and styles.
Ability to differentiate instruction and assess learning using a variety of methods
A strong foundation in student-centered pedagogy
Bachelors Degree required
ESL PK-6 certification required
SEI endorsement required
Duties include but are not limited to:
Thoughtfully planning for and delivering dynamic and creative English instruction that is high quality engaging and aligned to Ashland curricular guidance WIDA State Standards and Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
Practicing culturally responsive communication with students families and colleagues
Holding high expectations for all students and serving as a facilitator of student learning
Organizing and using a variety of teaching techniques strategies materials and technology to maximize the learning of each child individually and in group settings
Develop implement and consistently monitor language proficiency goals and objectives for EL students and keep parents informed about student progress in their requested language.
Assessing student progress using a variety of WIDA-aligned assessments providing students and parents with specific feedback and using the results to adjust instruction as needed
Collaborating with Special Educators ELE Educators Literacy and Math Specialists and Instructional Leaders to ensure students needs are being met
Consult with and assist SEI teachers of EL students to scaffold lessons assignments and assessments as appropriate for individual students. Or Co-plan and co-teach with SEI classroom teacher(s
Administer the annual ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Online test for ELL students.
Must be committed to the vision of high expectations for achievement equal access to high levels of instruction the achievement of academic and linguistic proficiency for all students and the closing of the achievement gap.
Must have a working knowledge of the WIDA standards and the Massachusetts Standards-Based curriculum.
Must have the ability to collect and analyze data in order to make recommendations for instructional programming.
