St. Joseph Catholic School in Vancouver WA is seeking a full time school counselor beginning the 2025-2026 school year. At St. Joseph we value faith service and academic excellence. A successful candidate must be willing to collaborate with teachers and parents on early identification and intervention of childrens social/emotional needs which is essential in removing barriers to learning and developing skills and behaviors critical for academic achievement.

Qualifications:

Degree in psychology counseling social work education psychology or sociology preferred.
Desire to help students attain an optimum level of personal and social adjustment.
Consult with parents teachers administrators and supporting agencies concerning the needs and abilities of students.
Ability to recognize and respond to student mental health needs and assist students and families seeking resources.
Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the school community.
Provide individual support and group guidance to help students cope effectively with personal social academic and family concerns.
Consult with parents teachers administration and supporting agencies concerning the needs and abilities of students.
Update and maintain confidential student records.
Other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Salary Range: $50000 - $70000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market date applicants skills and prior experience degrees and certifications.
