The Opportunity:
The Patient Accounts Representative shall be responsible for billing services monthly and monitoring the accounts receivable.
The pay range for this role is $21.45 to $23.35 based on education and experience. This job is a full-time in person position.

What Youll Do:
- Verify accuracy of billable service data
- Ensure compliance with third party contracts and policies
- Review payments and denials to determine appropriateness from third party payors
- Review billing statements for accuracy and payor requirements
- Ensure self-pay bills reflect maximum amounts that may be billed based on Wisconsin administrative code
- Communicate with clients/responsible party regarding billing and fees charged and third-party payors and payment requirements includes written and verbal communication
- Closely monitor all assigned accounts to ensure that all activity affecting that account is requested and recorded in a timely fashion. Also ensure closure is reached within a reasonable time as defined by policy and procedure.
- Make adjustments transfers write-offs and complete appeals when applicable
- Send correspondence
- Ensure timely billing to secondary payors within filing deadlines
- Follow collection procedures to collect on non-payment self-pay accounts
- Follow up with incorrect payments and denials from third party payors including but not limited to resubmission of claims for payment
- Process refunds as necessary
- Submit monthly invoices of other county group home inpatient outpatient and nursing home as assigned to client and third-party payors within established timelines
- Be the contact for the collections agencies and work with them in accordance with facility policies and procedures
- Be the contact with third party payors to ensure payment in a timely fashion
- Process bankruptcy and probate according to established guidelines
- Download Explanation of Benefits on internet for some electronic payments
- Review of daily obituaries online for any clients; send to appropriate areas.
- Maintains regular on-site attendance
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One or more years experience in health care billing
- Excellent customer service and computer skills
- Associates degree in healthcare business preferred.
