SUPERVISION: Under the direction of the CTEi Principal and Assistant Principal
POSITION OVERVIEW:
CTEi seeks a forward-thinking tech-savvy Business Technology Instructor with a passion to learn emerging technologies and prepare students for the evolving digital economy. The successful candidate will foster a dynamic learning environment that integrates industry-grade technologies and current workforce trends. The instructor will design and deliver coursework aligned with the 2025 Massachusetts Business Technology Framework covering topics such as digital tools for business marketing and consumer behavior project management accounting and finance entrepreneurship and technology such as generative AI and data analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Curriculum Development & Delivery
- Design and implement engaging instruction that meets DESEs 2025 Business Technology standards.
- Deliver courses in business finance accounting marketing social media marketing customer service entrepreneurship management business law project management digital literacy and business operations.
- Utilize real-world technologies including Microsoft Office Google Workspace Adobe Creative Suite CRM systems and project management tools (e.g. Trello Asana Teams).
- Adaptability & Innovation
- Integrate emerging technologies (AI cloud computing automation) into instruction and adapt teaching strategies to reflect current business innovations.
- Promote digital literacy and responsible use of technology in business applications.
- Student Engagement & Career Preparation
- Support students in developing employability skills digital fluency and ethical decision-making.
- Provide work-based learning opportunities such as internships cooperative education job shadowing and project-based simulations.
- Guide students in earning industry-recognized credentials (e.g. Microsoft Office Specialist QuickBooks Adobe NRF and more).
- Equity & Student-Centered Instruction
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners including English learners and students with IEPs/504s.
- Foster a classroom culture of respect professionalism and inclusive participation.
- Program Advancement
- Expand program offerings aligned with labor market trends and post-secondary pathways.
- Collaborate with local businesses colleges and advisory boards to develop articulation agreements dual enrollment opportunities and capstone experiences.
- Professionalism
- Maintain accurate records participate in school activities attend meetings and engage in ongoing professional development.
- Stay current on business trends digital tools and CTE best practices through professional memberships and training.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Chapter 74 Licensure in Business Technology from the Massachusetts DESE or eligibility to obtain it.
- Bachelors degree or higher related to the subject matter to be taught.
- Strong foundation in business technology and educational pedagogy.
- Experience in business finance marketing technology or related industry sectors preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Google Workspace and other business software platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and adapt to a rapidly evolving digital workplace.
- Commitment to equity student-centered learning and continuous improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal organizational collaboration and communication skills.
