Job Description
Job Summary
Ascension a Catholic school committed to academic excellence and spiritual formation seeks a dedicated and passionate Middle School Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will integrate scientific inquiry with a faith-based perspective fostering both critical thinking and moral responsibility in students.
Job Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards
Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
Integrate Catholic values into classroom discussions and scientific topics where appropriate (e.g. stewardship of the Earth ethical science).
Foster a safe respectful and disciplined classroom environment grounded in Gospel values.
Assess student learning through formal and informal assessments and provide constructive feedback.
Participate in school-wide liturgies prayer services and faith-formation activities.
Collaborate with fellow teachers administrators and parents to support student learning and school community.
Attend faculty meetings professional development and school functions as required.
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in Science Education or related field
Previous experience teaching middle school students preferred.
Practicing Catholic in good standing (preferred especially for faith formation responsibilities).
Strong communication organization and classroom management skills.
Commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
