Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Vital Statistics team as a Registration Systems & Data Clerk working in Fredericton.

As a member of the Vital Statistics team andreporting to the Registrations Systems & Data Managerthe successful candidate will be responsiblefor the daily operational function of capturing reporting and verifying vital event data. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Primary keying of registrations maintaining verifying and disseminating birth notices births marriages deaths and stillbirths (vital events)
  • Reviewing and finalizing outstanding vital events in accordance with legislation policy and procedures
  • Auditing processing and scanning of vital events to ensure integrity of vital event system
  • Responding to inquiries from the public and our stakeholders regarding the registration process of vital event registrations and the status of certificate applications
  • Performing other tasks as required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma supplemented by completion of a one (1) year post-secondary program and a minimum of three (3) years related experience including experience in the administration of policies procedures and legislation. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite is also required. An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of Applicable Legislation and the Departments Policies and Procedures

Subject to the response to this competition candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
