Job Description

Special Education Teacher - Social-Emotional & Developmental Support ProgramPosition Details:Duration: 6-month contractSchedule: Full-time following school calendarLocation: Lancaster MAStart Date: ASAP!6-Month Contract Position through Arbor AssociatesWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our specialized program serving students with social-emotional needs and developmental disabilities. In this role you will work with students who each have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and require thoughtful individualized support to reach their full Responsibilities:Develop and implement specialized instruction aligned with students IEPs focusing on both academic and social-emotional learning objectivesCreate and maintain a structured supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and social skill developmentCollaborate with related service providers families and other team members to ensure comprehensive student supportMonitor and document student progress maintaining detailed records and providing regular updates to stakeholdersAdapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs and stylesParticipate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational and behavioral goalsRequired Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Special Education or related fieldValid teaching license/certification with Special Education endorsementExperience working with students with social-emotional needs and developmental disabilitiesStrong understanding of IEP development and implementationDemonstrated ability to create and maintain a positive structured learning environmentExcellence in written and verbal communicationProficiency in behavior management techniques and crisis interventionPreferred Qualifications:Experience with specialized behavior support programsTraining in evidence-based interventions for students with social-emotional needsKnowledge of assistive technology and alternative communication systemsExperience with data collection and progress monitoring systemsApply Here: contract rateProfessional development opportunitiesSupportive team environmentComprehensive orientation and trainingComprehensive benefit package
