Veterinary Hospital Assistant-Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists
Hoffman Estates IL
Full-time-Weekend availability required
Job Overview:
The Hospital Assistant provides ease of flow and the basic needs for the hospital team to perform their medical duties. The hospital assistant would report directly to the Hospital Administrator. Duties will include:
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect the ward areas of the hospital as often as necessary (i.e. to ensure no cages or kennels are soiled and odors are not apparent)
- Provide routine maintenance on all non-medical devices which would include but not be limitedto:
- kennel doors
- breakroom appliances
- laundry machinery
- outside play yard turfing
- Thoroughly clean treatment areas and follow proper procedures for the cleaning of isolation
- Assist with various departments stock supplies
- Event set up and dismantle
- Assist employee enrichment inventory
- Assist employee engagement functions
- At the request of the medical care team assist with patient and animal handling for examination
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Musthave weekend availability
- Frequently requires handling of materials up to 40 lbs
- Must be willing to learn and apply knowledge and skills in controlling/handling individual animal temperament
- Have the ability to gain animal confidence when restraining them for transport or treatment
- Possess the ability to troubleshoot and fix issues efficiently
- Contain a knack for repairs and keeping things in optimal condition

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience--$16-18/hr. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills qualifications experience and location.
