Job Description

Over the next several years Xplore will be embarking on a multi-billion dollar fibre network deployment and fixed wireless network upgrade. As such we are looking to hire a Director FP&A who can partner with Network Operations to optimize strategic decision making ensure capex programs are on time and on budget and manage operating expenditures. Beyond these builds this individual will continue to be a key liaison between the FP&A and Network teams to help optimize our Networks and assess new business opportunities. Ultimately this individual will report directly into the Corporate FP&A team to deliver Network insights that will drive more efficient budgeting and forecasting.

The Director FP&A (Network) will report to the VP FP&A (with an indirect reporting line to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO)) and serve as the FP&A Prime for Xplores Network department. More specifically this Prime will serve as a dedicated financial resource for Xplore Network team whose key responsibility will be to embed themselves in the Network team and intimately understand Xplores Network department.

The individual will utilize their financial and accounting expertise to identify opportunities for business improvement improve forecast accuracy improve Network financial reporting propose recommendations for increasing effectiveness of business processes for productivity gains championing cost avoidance and reductions track program performance against key budgetary metrics and broader management objectives and broadly enhance Networks finance capabilities. Over time with their accumulated Network expertise this Prime will deliver insights to the Corporate FP&A team in order to help drive more efficient and effective budgeting and forecasting by sharing Network-specific knowledge with the Corporate FP&A team.

In addition the role will also provide broad support as needed to our Corporate FP&A team across a variety of projects including business case analysis to assess new initiatives M&A budgeting and forecasting and reporting.

This individual will work with senior members (VPs and Directors) within both the FP&A and Network teams as well as significant exposure to the Executive Team.

This position is best suited for candidates who are self-starters results-driven and enjoy collaborating cross-functionally with various individuals and departments at the senior level. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who thrives on improving processes and building accountability through team engagement. This individual works well in a fast-paced dynamic organization and will bring an agile and creative approach to FP&A all in an effort to support the Companys build and growth plans.

Key responsibilities include:

Key liaison between FP&A and Network who will thoroughly embed themselves in the Network team and serve as a financial prime for said team
Intimately understand the complexities of the Network operations
Utilize their financial and accounting expertise to identify opportunities for business improvement improve forecast accuracy improve Network financial reporting propose recommendations for increasing effectiveness of business processes for productivity gains championing cost avoidance and reductions track program performance against key budgetary metrics and broader management objectives and broadly enhance Networks finance capabilities
Deliver insights to the Corporate FP&A team in order to help drive more efficient and effective budgeting and forecasting by sharing Network-specific knowledge with the Corporate FP&A team
Provide broad support as needed to our Corporate FP&A team across a variety of projects including business case analysis to assess new initiatives M&A budgeting and forecasting and reporting
Liaise with internal departments developing strong working relationships
Analyze financial performance identify trends and provide actionable insights to senior management.
Assist with reporting for Senior Management the Board of Directors PE sponsors and external financial institutions
Assists FP&A with developing key inputs into the balance sheet income statements and cash flow statements for annual plan

The ideal candidate will possess:

At least 5 years experience in Telecom or related field
At least 5 years experience in Financial Modelling
At least 5 years experience in FP&A or related experience in forecasting and budgeting
Strong proficiency of Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word
Experienced at building productive/trusting relationships with internal counterparties
Very strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
Experienced in leading teams
Ability to multi-task and understand competing priorities and following through projects to completion
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly and convincingly communicate both written and oral with both technical and non-technical internal customers
Successful track record working in team environments with proven ability to influence others without direct responsibility
