About this role
The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the production floor and a team of hourly
employees ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining safety quality and efficiency standards. This role requires a hands-on approach to leadership a keen eye for detail and the ability to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
To lead a group of hourly employees to achieve all required metrics and attainment goals.
Supervising a large group of hourly employees average range consists of 45 to 120 employees.
Work with supporting departments to achieve one goal.
Supervise and support hourly/direct employees.
Set day-to-day activities.
Assist monitoring production operators.
Ensures all quality related items for one cell are complete and documented to meet established quality standards.
Assists in cost reduction and process improvement to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
Assists in scheduling for one cell so that production schedules are met.
Assists in sequencing of work such as build and delivery for a cell to optimize productivity.
Coordinates activities for materials and logistics problem resolution of a cell to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
Monitors cell performance and productivity of a cell to maximize productivity.
Assists in production innovation including additive manufacturing of a cell to enhance the cells production capabilities.
Interfaces with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of services.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of experience in a Fabrication environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree with 3 years of experience in leading teams is preferred.
Effective Communication: Clearly communicate with team members at all levels.
Lead and manage change effectively.
Team Engagement and Motivation.
Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling prioritizing coaching and process execution is preferred.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes quality control and safety regulations.
Continuous improvement methods and tools (PDCA Kaizen Value Stream map).
ERP Systems Microsoft suite Timekeeping software.
Problem Solving Mindset - analyze information and proactively look for solution.
