Job Description
OES Equipment part of the DPR Family of Companies is a fast-paced supply and rental equipment company in the construction industry. We are seeking a Purchasing Lead/Demand Planner to lead a team of regional and national purchasing specialists as well as data gathering analysis and to publish an accurate forecast and demand plan for goods and services needed across all DPR entities to make OES a best-in-class procurement provider to our front-line teams.
This individual will work closely with OES leaders to identify challenges and implement forecasting solutions. The demand plan and forecasting strategy shall include data aggregation inventory levels timelines and detail the steps necessary to meet the demand plan created. This role requires someone who thrives networking in a multi-departmental company bringing together resources to make a significant impact back to DPR projects. This individual will have an opportunity to influence supply chain strategies order/fulfillment processes as well as build and foster key relationships across the family of companies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Purchasing Team Lead
- Lead a team of regional and national purchasing specialists.
- Support day-to-day needs of purchasing specialists and manage performance.
- Ensure all stocked purchasing for branches is completed accurately and completely through the use of direct POs to vendors intercompany transfers and/or centralized distribution.
- Leverage stocked item details from the purchasing team to support demand plan efforts.
- Forecasting & Planning
- Create accurate forecasts and building demand plans that detail inventory levels ordering timelines and the steps necessary to meet the needs of the front-line projects working with the data team to employ computer learning and AI to automate these processes to the furthest extent possible.
- Communicate opportunities for vendor consolidation based on aggregated spend data.
- Identify and communicate upstream or downstream effects to the demand plan driven by changes from sales marketing and supply chain.
- Leverage market intelligence to determine the impact to the forecast; document and incorporate assumptions into forecast at product level.
- Process Strategy & Aggregation
- Identify data sources and aggregate material goods and services needed across all 1DPR entities leveraging key information from purchasing specialists and other OES/DPR teams.
- Work closely with Supply Chain team and lead as OES main resource for aggregation forecasting and demand planning.
- Develop and strategize the aggregation process for both long-term and short-term forecasts at the item level.
- Analyze the forecasted data and communicate on the relevant results.
- Leverage demand plan to focus on sustainability customer service and lean construction objectives.
- KPI & Performance
- Drive increased spend through OES by providing 1DPR entities with accurate and timely advanced ordering product line expansion and inventory space management.
- Support ad-hoc team needs.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail problem-solving skills verbal and written communication skills.
- Resilient and able to adapt to significant challenges and balance multiple initiatives at once.
- Ability to pivot multi task and work in a fast paced environment with little oversight or direction.
- Awareness of internal and external trends to ensure the demand plan is as accurate as possible.
- Ability to read and produce take offs.
- Ability to develop embrace and deploy innovative solutions.
- Ability and willingness to work across multiple time zones and travel as needed.
- Highly proactive with diligent follow-through on commitments.
Required Education and Experience
- 5 years of experience in supply chain.
- B.A. or B.S. degree in business supply chain procurement finance or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Strong customer service experience and commitment to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management specific to construction.
- Advanced knowledge of common construction project management delivery methodologies.
- Experience with;
