Position Overview
Were a dynamic team of engineers and designers supporting a wide range of projects in the power sector. As a Mechanical Designer youll play a key role in developing detailed piping and mechanical equipment layouts and 3D models for power generation plants carbon capture facilities and other energy-related infrastructure.
Youll contribute to the design of systems such as:
Steam cycle systems
Boiler feed and condensate systems
Water treatment
Fuel handling
Hydraulic and heat transfer systems
Conveying systems
Air and gas systems

Responsibilities
Produce piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) layout plans sections and 3D models for various power plant systems.
Design mechanical systems including rotating equipment HVAC compressed air and gas systems and service water systems.
Check design deliverables to ensure compliance with industry codes project specifications and internal standards.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and constructability.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers or interns.
Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
Identify and incorporate design changes as needed to meet budget and schedule goals.
Attend and contribute to project meetings.
Support project development and execution with a proactive solution-oriented mindset.
Qualifications
410 years of experience in mechanical or piping design within the power generation industrial or oil & gas sectors.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Drafting Design or related engineering field preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
Proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as MicroStation AutoCAD Revit Navisworks SmartPlant3D AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar.
Experience checking for design interferences and constructability in a 3D environment.
Strong background in developing P&IDs plot plans and construction drawings.
Able to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
