Job Description

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use):

Role Purpose:The role involves delivering strategic direction for the Governments team within Global Analytics and Methodologies focusing on models that reduce operational risk strengthen transparency and enhance analytics. It is strategic in nature with exposure globally across Americas Public Finance Sovereigns Multilateral Lending Institutions and International Public Finance (IPF). The role will report to the Head of Government Methodologies.

Location:New York London Englewood. Other locations will also be considered.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Strategic Vision:Able to set a clear and inspiring vision aligned with the enterprise and division strategy motivating others to achieve it.
  • Influencing Skills:Influences stakeholders to support key initiatives ensuring strategic alignment and buy-in.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:Leads highly visible multidisciplinary project teams working beyond team boundaries to unlock value and agree on solutions.
  • Problem Solving and Innovation:Brings new thinking and curiosity to create innovative solutions with a long-term perspective in mind.
  • Communication:Articulates complex ideas across functions and levels negotiating effectively to agree on solutions.
  • Strategic design and delivery of best-in-class models data and technology for the Government Methodologies team.
  • Effective communication with leaders within Americas Public Finance IPF Sovereigns Ratings Technology and Analytic Quality and Validation.
  • Establishing project plans and timelines including resource planning for project completion.
  • Talent management and coaching team members to ensure development and driving performance improvements.
  • Liaising with leadership to develop models for high-quality analytics.
  • Promoting best practices and strategic imperatives across functional groups.
  • Engaging key stakeholders globally to ensure successful execution.
  • Championing Governments in ratings-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Proactively managing the model portfolio and overseeing model-related management action plans.
  • Member of GMAT making decisions on model determinations and oversight.
  • Executive presentations to the Criteria & Model Governance Committee and the Board of Managers.
  • Coordinating compliance with regulatory requirements.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $175000 to $285000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individuals geographic location as well as experience level skill set training licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

Qualifications:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • A graduate degree in Business Finance or related field.
  • An S&P Global Employee at this grade level typically has 10 years of experience in financial services.
  • Previous experience with criteria models and ratings technology.
  • Extensive knowledge of ratings process and systems; understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership skills and change management attitude capacity to challenge views processes and behaviors.
  • Strong execution and communication skills

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate and influence across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience working in a complex global multi-cultural organization.
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring team members.
  • Outstanding project and organization management skills.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Ability to represent the Governments team at senior meetings and with regulators.
