Job Description

This can be a recurring position every year with the opportunity to transition from seasonal to regular employment.
Job Description:
The open position is for a materials testing technician. Technicians perform routine field testing of concrete soil asphalt reinforcing steel masonry fireproofing structural steel welding and/or bolting to be within compliance with ACI WAQTC CAPA ICC and AWS certifications per ASTM and AASHTO standards and state requirements. Technicians collect data and report their observation and testing results daily in accordance with project requirements.

- Colorado Asphalt Paving Association (CAPA)
- Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC)

- American Welding Society (AWS)
As a member of CMTs team you will become proficient in construction material inspections and develop expertise in construction inspections plan interpretation mathematical and written communication and understanding of how materials behave and the environments that can change them. Our staff develop risk management skills to become construction material consultants providing confidence for the design team and other stakeholders for successful projects from start to finish.
Minimum Requirements:
Valid drivers license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Companys driving policy. High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to pass a drug test regardless of state legalization. Comfortable lifting 65lbs on a continuous basis. Ability to travel within Colorado as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Meet the minimum requirements and have any of the following:
- Associates Bachelor of Science or greater degree.
- Knowledge of general inspection and testing principles safety and quality control/quality assurance principles.
- Active applicable certifications: Nuclear Density Gauge and Hazmat ACI CAPA WAQTC ICC and/or AWS.
- Knowledge of construction methods and procedures for roadways commercial buildings and other structures including the ability to interpret roadway civil and/or building plans specifications and codes.
- Experience in safety responsibilities related to the construction of transportation facilities civil work and building construction
- Proficiency in software: Microsoft Word and Excel Blue Beam Adobe.
- Knowledge in the use of electronic data processing equipment and/or contract management software.
Compensation based on experience:
Entry level candidates with no certifications who require on the job training: $25 per hour.
Experienced Candidates with active industry certifications: $26- $38 per hour.
