JOB SUMMARY:

Our Ethos Operations Team is currently seeking a full-time Field Agent in Charge (FAC) to join our investigative team. The FAC plays a critical leadership role by overseeing a team of 1015 field investigators ensuring the highest quality in surveillance reporting and client compliance.


Our ideal candidate is an experienced field investigator seeking to step into a leadership role while remaining active in the field with a strong preference for surveillance training or surveillance case management experience. This individual brings a strong supervisory presence excels in managing remote teams and maintains a high standard of performance through independent hands-on investigative work.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Supervision: Oversee a team of 1015 field investigators to ensure investigative assignments are executed effectively and professionally.
  • Status Monitoring: Receive and respond to mandatory 4-hour and 8-hour field updates from investigators providing support and direction as needed.
  • Case Compliance: Review case assignment prior to case start to confirm that all fieldwork aligns with client expectations legal standards and internal protocols.
  • Surveillance Execution: Conduct covert mobile and stationary surveillance to gather critical evidence in fraud or claim investigations.
  • Evidence Collection: Capture high-quality video and photographic documentation while maintaining discretion and legal compliance.
  • Reporting: Draft comprehensive and detailed investigative reports that clearly outline findings timelines and relevant observations.
  • Case File Management: Upload all surveillance materials including video footage and photographs along with written documentation to the internal case management system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associates Bachelors Degree in Criminology or a related field (preferred).


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a surveillance investigator (required).
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or management experience (required).
  • Prior military law enforcement or insurance industry experience is highly desirable.

Licensing & Technology:

  • Active Private Investigator license within the state of residence or eligible to obtain one in your state.
  • A valid drivers license that is not currently suspended or revoked and proof of valid auto insurance.
  • A reliable laptop cell phone and internet service are needed for communication and administrative tasks.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize projects. Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This is a hybrid role that includes both remote administrative work within the U.S. and on-site field surveillance.
  • Travel Expectations: While we aim to keep assignments within a 2-hour drive of your residence occasional further travel and overnight stays (covered by the company) may be required.
  • Most surveillance cases start at 6:00 AM on weekdays and 7:00 AM on weekends with some discretion on the flexibility of surveillance assignments. End time can vary depending on activity and a typical workday can vary from 3-12 hours.
  • Weekend and holiday availability is essential as subjects are often more active during these times.
  • This is an independent role often requiring long hours alone in your vehicle regardless of weather conditions.
  • Must remain alert with no external distractions ready to use videography equipment to document subjects.
