Job Description

The Associate Vice President (AVP) Data Governancewill report to the Senior Vice President (SVP) Data Governance and play a pivotal role in advancing AINAs Data Governance Framework. This position demands proficiency developing comprehensive business cases for data governance initiatives designing and implementing metrics and KPIs to measure the benefits realized and managing the delivery of Data Governance technology solutions. The ability to effectively collaborate with other Data Team members and Business stakeholders across the organization is essential. Additionally the position will require the ability to execute data analysis; profiling; and investigative research regarding a variety of challenging data-related scenarios as well as lead cross-functional groups targeted to determine effective solutions for these scenarios.
General Responsibilities
Support SVP Data Governance as needed
Help implement and sustain Data Governance across teams.
Facilitate a cross-functional working group to tackle data-related challenges ensuring effective collaboration and communication among members.
Support the development of recommendations and align on solutions for presentation to the Data Governance Committee (DGC).
Create Data Governance materials including PPTs.
Analyze data to assess the impact of governance efforts and report to senior management and the DGC.
Perform data analysis for basic inquiries and investigation as .
Support the Data Team in managing risk by ensuring risk register is up-to-date and reflects any new data governance challenges
Collaborate with the Data Team to support overall goals and initiatives set by the team
Data Governance Technology
Act as Data Governance technology SME and resource for Data Stewards.
Develop comprehensive business cases for data governance initiatives including cost-benefit analysis ROI calculations and strategic alignment with organizational goals.
Lead the introduction and implementation of new data governance technologies including overseeing completion of POCs and quantifying and tracking the benefits.
Collaborate with Data Stewards and other key stakeholders to gather requirements and validate assumptions used in business case development.
Collaborate with Data Stewards and other key stakeholders to assess needs identify gaps and ensure alignment on data governance initiatives.
Lead the user acceptance testing and deployment of these technologies.
Work closely with the Data Stewardship Manager to develop and deliver training for Data Stewards and other stakeholders in new data governance technologies.
Design and implement metrics and KPIs to measure the benefits realized from data governance initiatives.
Assist in engaging senior management and the DGC to raise awareness and secure support and resources for data governance initiatives.
Contribute to and implement communication and change management strategies to promote the adoption of new data governance practices and technologies ensuring stakeholders are well-informed about initiatives updates and changes.
Facilitate training and information sessions as directed.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in data governance practices and assist in executing initiatives to implement these enhancements as .
Data Privacy & Protection
Assist with determining tagging and privacy masking requirements and processes working closely with appropriate stakeholders including compliance
Create and maintain privacy policies within the applicable privacy tool
Help Data Stewardship Manager lead Data Stewards in necessary tasks to achieve desired data masking outcomes
Master Data Management
Screen initial requests for MDM and collaborate with Data Stewards and other key stakeholders to complete impact assessment as needed
Communicate and collaborate with Data Store IT Teams and BSAs to request needed data for MDM analysis
Analyze raw data to prepare and propose MDM approach
Manage the implementation of Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data Management (RDM) use cases ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder requirements.
Coordinate with IT and business teams to ensure successful deployment and adoption of MDM and RDM solutions.
Monitor and report on the progress of MDM and RDM initiatives addressing any issues and ensuring continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Organizational Management Computer Science Management of Information Systems or related field(s) preferred.
P&C insurance experience preferred
Minimum 3 years experience or knowledge of Data Governance Metadata Management Data Quality Master Data Management Privacy and Security and Data Stewardship principles and preferably hold a relevant certification (e.g. DAMA DCMP DCAM or similar)
Minimum 3 years experience in overseeing projects including the understanding business requirements building business cases and implementing new data governance technologies and processes.
Minimum 3 years experience in capturing and analyzing data to measure benefits realized from projects and initiatives
Minimum 3 years experience in leading and facilitating cross-functional working groups to identify and determine effective solutions to data-related problems
Minimum 3 years experience applying technical and business skills to perform data analysis interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
Experience working with Snowflake (or similar) and experience with system testing
Experience with writing and executing basic SQL-based queries
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint . Proficiency in Smartsheets preferred.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$129500 - $174800/year
Total individual compensation (base salary short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location scope & responsibilities of the role qualifications talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
