Job Title: Foster Pavilion Operations Assistant

Job Classification: Business Operations Student

Department: Athletics Event Management & Facilities

Hiring Manager: Jonathan Berry

Contact:

Work Schedule: Flexible working hours depending on event schedule. Some nights and weekends. No more than 20 hours per week.

Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Ongoing

Pay Rate: $10

Job Description:

Position Summary:
The Student Worker supports the day-to-day operations and event execution at Foster Pavilio. This position offers hands-on experience in event management guest services and facility operations while providing flexible hours to accommodate student schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with event setup and breakdown for basketball games concerts and other special events.
Greet and assist guests provide directions and ensure a positive event experience.
Support back-of-house operations including locker room setup team support and equipment logistics.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility.
Operate various equipment such as radios scoreboards and PA systems (training provided).
Collaborate with full-time staff and external vendors to ensure smooth event operations.
Perform other duties as assigned by arena staff or supervisors.
Qualifications:
Availability to work evenings weekends and holidays based on event schedule.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Dependable punctual and professional.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in event operations customer service or athletic facilities.
Interest in sports management hospitality or event planning.

  • Provide mid to advanced level administrative and operational support for day-to-day tasks
  • May serve as initial contact for in-person guests or callers; provide excellent customer service
  • May generate prepare and analyze reports or perform forecasting
  • May create creative content or maintain department website(s)
  • May assist with special projects and initiatives supporting departmental goals
  • May assist with planning or coordination of events
  • May assist with identifying areas of improvement and recommend solutions
  • May assist with compliance processes
  • May assist with maintaining internal databases and records
  • May assist with developing processes and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
