PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
in the performance of ECGs
a record of ECGs faxed from OSH including referral source
all demographic data into ECG machine prior to performing ECG
completed ECGs to the laboratory on a regular basis
all ECG orders are complete and attached to the ECG for billing purposes
ECGs in MUSE for all Pediatric Cardiology locations so they are available for interpretation by the cardiologist
phone as necessary
completed ECGs for distribution
previous ECGs as requested
ECGs and/or reports to patient units or MD office as requested
cardiac rhythm monitor ordering processing and timing of interpretation
appointments for patients who complete cardiac rhythm monitoring
closely with cardiac monitor vendors and patients to troubleshoot devices and provide support



Job Summary

Summary - Responsible for performing diagnostic tests to monitor the electrical activity of a patients heart.

Essential Functions- Prepare patients for the ECG test by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have. Attach electrodes to the patients chest and limbs to monitor their heart activity during the test. Operate ECG equipment and monitoring the patients heart activity during the test.
-Record and analyze the results of the test for the physician or cardiologist.
-Identify and correct any issues that may arise during the ECG test.
-Clean and maintain ECG equipment and ensuring that it is in proper working condition.
-Maintain accurate and detailed records of each patients ECG test results.



Qualifications

EducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent requiredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degreeNoLicenses and CredentialsExperienceCompletion of an ECG technician training program or equivalent work experience. 1-2 years preferredKnowledge Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and cardiovascular system. - Knowledge of ECG equipment and procedures. - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients physicians and other healthcare professionals. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems used for medical record keeping. - Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
