Job Description
The Leggett & Platt Flooring division located in Statesville NC is searching for a Maintenance Electrician to join our Maintenance team to help support our Carpet Underlay business.

Learn more about the history of Leggett: anMaintenance Electrician you will have the opportunity to assist the maintenance department and/or the maintenance mechanics by creating maintain and repair the electrical and electronic components and equipment used in any equipment or device. Assist in mechanical task along with electrical. You may also perform other tasks as assigned.
Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring that the machinery and facility runs efficiently. The team you will be working with collaborates to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner.
So what will you be doing as an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic
- Installs and repairs electrical systems apparatus and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment following electrical code manuals schematic diagrams blueprints and other specifications using hand tools power tools and electrical and electronic test equipment: Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots conveyors and programmable controllers following electrical code and blueprints using hand tools and voltage tester.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays switches and motors and positions sensing devices using hand tools.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components.
- May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment following manuals schematic diagrams and blueprints using hand tools and test equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized work area.
- Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
To be successful in this role youll need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be able to read write and do advanced math.
- Must be detail oriented and well organized.
- Must be able to change from one task to another frequently.
- Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
- Operational knowledge of common hand power and industrial tools.
- Maintain equipment and do basic repairs as needed.
- Available to work on required Saturdays.
Things we consider a plus:
Experience in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing facility building maintenance and preventative maintenance.
