RISE Academy is an alternative high school within Lawrence Public Schools. RISE is a trauma-informed school grounded in restorative justice that values relationships and mutual respect with the belief that all students want to be successful in school. RISE students learn in a competency-based structure in an academic and social-emotional program that works to prepare students for an ever-changing world after high school. We are seeking a School Culture Specialist to do the following:Provide proactive daily support to teachers staff and students to maintain high behavioral expectations;Assist teachers staff students and families in the effective creation and implementation of individual student support plans;Reinforce the effective use of restorative to collaborate in school-wide teams to support students highly present and visible during school hours; and Implement a referral process into the restorative system to be used by staff and develop a system for students to request circlesAttend professional development and staff facilitate and document restorative conferences mediations and other types of conflict resolution circles as deemed behavior in classroom and in common areasSupport teachers/staff as needed per the school as in-class behavioral support when students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria as interpersonal and communication skills.A strong familiarity with the neighborhoods and community of to implement systems and follow up as needed.
