Position Description: Program / Associate Program Director - Internal Medicine-Psychiatry Residency Program Academic Faculty-Open Rank Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Position Summary: The Program Director (or Associate Program Director) will provide leadership and oversight to one of the countrys fourteen combined internal medicine-psychiatry residency programs. This program is relatively new in its inception and has a total complement of ten residents (two residents per class). The program director is responsible for organizing implementing and overseeing all aspects of the residency program ensuring compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements and fostering a culture of excellence in education clinical care research and wellness. This position will also involve clinical practice and supervision of categorical residents in internal medicine and psychiatry as well as residents in the combined program in various integrated medical and psychiatric settings. This ensures that residents receive comprehensive training and exposure to integrated care. Clinically the faculty member has the opportunity to practice in a variety of integrated practice settings including but not limited to settings as diverse as serving as a hospitalist on our med/psych inpatient unit working within primary care in an integrated med/psychiatry primary care clinic or serving as a consultant in our collaborative care program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within diverse clinical environments emphasizing a dynamic balance of clinical educational and administrative responsibilities. The position offers the potential for a dual faculty appointment within Psychiatry and Internal Medicine for qualified and interested candidates providing substantial opportunities for professional growth scholarly activity and meaningful contributions to integrated healthcare delivery.
