Responsibilities:
The head coach is responsible for conducting the overall program while abiding by departmental and university policy. Duties include coaching recruiting scheduling purchasing of equipment budget management monitoring of student-athlete academic progress and compliance with NCAA and Southern Conference rules and regulations. The Head Coach is responsible for promoting alumni donor and community relationships. The head coach will assist in fundraising efforts for their sport and overall department.
Qualifications:
A bachelors degree from an accredited college/university is required along with some prior coaching experience. Candidate must have working knowledge of NCAA and Southern Conference rules in relation to womens softball. Additionally the NCAA/Southern Conference recruiting test will be required which allows the coach to recruit off-campus. Candidates must have working knowledge of software and technology related to player performance and game video the physical capability of life field maintenance and setup for games good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to recruit quality student-athletes who have the capabilities to be successful in a challenging academic and athletic environment.
Candidates must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by the universitys carrier.
