Role description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented architect engineer or consultant to join our growing team in the Chicago or Houston area. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in due diligence activities Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) and reporting coupled with a passion for business development and securing new opportunities in the local market. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with client and market engagement contributing to the success of both our projects and our business growth.

This role is tailored for an individual with a strong technical background in due diligence activities Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) and reporting who is equally passionate about business development and driving new opportunities in the local market. This position offers a unique chance to merge technical expertise with market and client engagement playing a pivotal role in the success of our projects and contributing to the growth of our business.

Role accountabilities:

Technical Expertise

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical accuracy and deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Leverage analytical and data science skills to prepare and deliver data-backed solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence assessments including property condition assessments site evaluations and risk identification.
  • Perform Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) to evaluate the physical and functional condition of facilities including structural mechanical electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports summarizing findings providing actionable recommendations and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Business Development

  • Actively engage in the Chicago market to identify and pursue new business opportunities including networking relationship-building and market research.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients property owners developers and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals presentations and marketing materials to secure new projects.
  • Represent the company at industry events conferences and client meetings.

Project Management

  • Oversee and manage projects ensuring timely delivery budget adherence and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients providing clear and consistent communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Monitor project performance and quality addressing any issues that may arise.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture Structural Civil or Mechanical Engineering Construction Management or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in engineering due diligence activities Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) or real estate consulting.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven proficiency in due diligence activities and Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) with the ability to identify and evaluate risks and opportunities.
  • Exceptional report-writing skills with attention to detail and clarity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Business acumen and an interest in procuring business in the Chicago area.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Technical Proficiency

  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools and software for assessments and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Chicago-area regulations permitting processes and building codes is a significant advantage.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per salary range for this position is $120000 - $150000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
