DIVISION OVERVIEW
The Housing Assistance Division (HAD) of the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) Is responsible for the administration of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. The LACDA administers over 26000 Housing Choice Vouchers for the County of Los Angeles and other targeted and grant-funded rental subsidy programs. The Housing Assistance Division partners with 10000 landlords helping eligible families afford safe decent high-quality rental housing. This fast-paced work environment has a high volume of phone calls and data entry projects.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the general direction of the Housing Assistance Manager the Assistant Manager will co-manage the administration of the Divisions rental subsidy programs and oversee the staff in the Management Services Department. The Assistant Manager is responsible for planning organizing and managing the staff operations and activities of an assigned department. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for performing diverse specialized and complex work involving significant accountability and decision-making responsibilities which include department budget administration program evaluation and recommendation and implementation of policies procedures goals objectives priorities and standards related to the functional areas of responsibility. Incumbents serve as a professional-level resource for organizational managerial and operational analyses and studies. Performance of the work requires the use of considerable independence initiative and discretion within broad guidelines.

To be considered all applicants are required to apply online by the filing will be reviewed for possession of minimum qualificationsand evaluated according to the essential functions of the job. In the Work Experience section of the application applicants must demonstrate their experience by providing a clear description of the work performed as it relates to the position. Please note foreign degrees (or degrees completed outside of the United States) require an evaluation of U.S. equivalency conducted by a credential evaluation service such as The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credential Evaluators Inc. (AICE).

Salary compensation is dependent on qualifications (experience education knowledge skills and abilities). Initial salary placement is generally made between the start and mid-point of the posted range. New hires are not eligible to start at the maximum of the posted range.
Conditions of Employment
Candidates selected from the process will receive a conditional offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of satisfactory reference checks a post-offer medical examination and criminal background check. Background check information will be considered in determining the applicants suitability for the position.
Candidates must possess a valid California Class C Drivers License an acceptable driving record and must comply with the LACDAs Motor Vehicle Safety Policy during employment.
Failure to meet these pre-employment requirements will be grounds for withdrawal of the conditional offer of employment.
Proof of authorization to work in the United States will be required at the time of hire.
Employment with the LACDA is at-will and may be terminated at any time with or without cause.
