Duties and Responsibilities
- *Contributes to the development of the Hubs organizational chart proactively identifies needed changes analyzes policy options and implements new processes as approved.
- *Oversees research personnel matters including hiring and onboarding managing the team calendar tracking hours and reviewing timesheets managing and resolving schedule conflicts.
- *Oversees the preparation of program planning establishes program goals and timelines. Tracks the progress of goals activities and deliverables such that deadlines are met. Provides updates on potential or actual delays and collaboratively proposes solutions to address reduce or prevent delays and improve efficiency.
- Contributes to program evaluation in collaboration with the Registry Director and funder policy.
- *Prepares reporting and evaluation documents including presentations and other documents that are used in communicating to partners. Drafts summaries about activities and progress towards project deliverables for final distribution to the Red Hill Independent Registry Principal Investigator and Director as well as other partners on the Registry.
- Analyzes and communicates information on program activities to internal and external partners and constituents in a logical methodical and organized manner.
- *Plans coordinates and attends meetings conferences or other activities in support of the Hub which may require travel to various geographical locations and working outside of normal business hours including evenings weekends and holidays. Coordinates events and schedules travel for Hub Consultant Pool.
- Consults and collaborates with various UH collaborating units including the Office of Strategic Health Initiatives the John A. Burns School of Medicine the Water Resources Research Center University Health Partners of Hawaii and others as designated to support new partnerships data access and cross-school and -unit protocols.
- *Supports research projects through the monitoring of timelines data scraping policy development questionnaire piloting and the creation of summaries and reporting. Other research support duties may be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.
- Supervises the accuracy and completion of student research activities and suggests avenues for improvement when deficiencies are identified. Assists the Scientific Coordinator with reviewing student written materials and provides copy editing if needed.
- Identifies student and staff training and professional development opportunities in line with Registry and Hubs Workforce development goals. Coordinates independent events as needed and monitors participation at these events.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Professional Work Experience
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Political Science Public Administration Public Health general humanities or related field and 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for program and/or project management; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Considerable working knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area program and/or project management demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts principles and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws rules regulations and theories and systems associated with program and/or project management.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective innovative and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer apply word processing software and spreadsheet and presentation software.
- If applicable for supervisory work demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee relations.
Supplemental Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with progress monitoring progress evaluation and reporting.
- Knowledge of Public Health Surveillance Programs.
- Experience in research project personnel administration.
- Understanding of policy development and analysis
- Demonstrated experience event planning and managing large events like meetings conferences or other activities.
- Experience working in a higher education setting liaising between academic units and external stakeholders and partners
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare administration.
- Experience in general office administration.
- Familiarity with the Red Hill Registry.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Red Hill Jet Fuel Crisis
- Working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws rules regulations and theories and systems associated with grant administration RCUH/UH Travel policies and mandatory student faculty and staff trainings.
- Experience working with congressionally-funded projects within higher education systems
- Experience working in a Public Health research setting
- Experience working with Government partners or in Local and Federal Government agencies
- Familiarity with the University of Hawaii System
- Classwork experience major or minor in Public Health Political Sciences and Policy or law.
- Possession of a valid drivers license
