The Community Liaison PowerSchool and Pupil Accounting Coordinator serves a dual role supporting district operations and community engagement. This position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining student information systems (PowerSchool) overseeing state and local pupil accounting requirements and fostering productive relationships between the school district and families local organizations and the broader community. The coordinator ensures accurate student data reporting facilitates communication between stakeholders and supports initiatives that enhance educational access compliance and engagement.
The position reports to the Superintendent or his/her designee.
FLSA Status: Exempt (Full-Time Year-Round Position)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the district administrator for PowerSchool and related applications.
Manage and troubleshoot student data entry scheduling and reporting functions.
Train school staff on PowerSchool use updates and best practices.
Ensure the integrity and security of student records and information systems.
Coordinate all pupil accounting functions to ensure compliance with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) regulations.
Prepare audit and submit Fall and Spring Count Day reports and end-of-year state reporting.
Monitor and verify student enrollment attendance residency and demographic data.
Serve as liaison with state agencies regarding pupil accounting audits and requirements.
Build and maintain strong positive relationships between the district and parents community organizations and local stakeholders.
Coordinate family engagement activities and community outreach initiatives.
Support families in navigating school services enrollment transportation and other systems.
Promote two-way communication between families and schools to support student success and engagement.
Collaborate with administrators and staff across departments and schools.
Provide timely reports and updates to district leadership.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification
Preferred Associates degree or higher in education business technology public administration or a related field.
Demonstrated experience with PowerSchool or similar student information systems.
Knowledge of Michigan Pupil Accounting Manual and reporting requirements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
Proven ability to build trust and engage with diverse families and community groups.
Highly organized with attention to detail and data accuracy.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Full-time 12-month position (1.0 FTE).
7:30-4:00pm with occasional evenings for meetings or events.
Work is performed in a school environment with frequent interaction with students staff and parents.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to author reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups staff parents and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

COMPENSATION. The compensation is outlined by the collective bargaining agreement with the Richmond Education Association (REA).
