About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Privacy and Commercial Legal Counsel to join our legal team. This is an amazing opportunity to be the second legal function in a fast-growing and dynamic organization. As a Privacy and Commercial Legal Counsel you will play a vital role in ensuring our organizations compliance with privacy laws. You will report to the VP Legal and work closely with cross-functional teams to address privacy-related legal matters.

What Youll Get To Do:

• Provide ongoing legal consulting and guidance on data privacy security and compliance matters with a focus on applicable laws and regulations including GDPR CCPA etc.
• Draft and negotiate various commercial agreements and privacy-related contracts including publishing and advertising agreements data processing agreements vendor agreements employment agreements and other related documents.
• Develop implement and update privacy policies procedures and practices to ensure compliance with data protection laws and best practices.
• Ensure that the Organizations legal interests are secured.
• Lead data breach incident response efforts working with the Security and Product teams to investigate mitigate and report data breaches as required by law.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk assessments to identify potential data protection issues and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including IT Security Sales Product and HR teams to establish and maintain data protection measures and protocols.
• Provide guidance on developments in privacy laws and industry standards and advise the organization on any necessary changes to ensure compliance.

The Skills and Experience You Bring:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of a US State Bar Association
• Admitted to the NY Bar is a plus!
• 3 years of experience serving as in-house counsel at a technology company preferably within the AdTech industry with a focus on data privacy security and commercial contracting.
• Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in the Data Privacy department of a leading law firm or a technology company.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a business mindset and strategic thinking.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is preferred.
• Experience in the AdTech industry is a plus.

What Youll Get:

Our Privacy & Commercial Legal Counsel compensation package includes an annual salary ranging between $160000 and $210000 (based on the candidates experience and skill set). Additionally this role is eligible for equity and benefits including:
