Job Description

Position Title: Legal Assistant

Reports to: Operations Manager

Employment Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Denver CO

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Position Summary

Aldevra LLC is currently seeking a qualified Legal Assistant to support the United States Attorneys Office (USAO) for the District of Colorado in their mission to prosecute and defend cases on behalf of the federal government. This position is onsite at the USAO headquarters in Denver CO and will provide administrative and legal support to the criminal and/or civil division. We will provide training but the ideal candidate will already align with our core values of SOAR (Strong Integrity and Ethics Outstanding Teamwork Accountability-Driven and Relentless Pursue of Quality).

This position is contingent upon contract award.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare a variety of legal documents and correspondence in final format.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for court; scan discovery into automated systems.
  • Maintain court calendars; assemble trial and grand jury exhibits and notebooks.
  • Maintain and organize legal files ensuring proper closing and archiving procedures.
  • Support attorneys and paralegals with electronic filing in CM/ECF (training provided).
  • Review and correct omissions in records; ensure compliance with file procedures.
  • Assist the Administrative Division with special projects including mail moves and court runs.
  • Serve as back-up receptionist when needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Security Requirements:

  • DOJ Sensitive Background Investigation (Risk Level 4 SSBI)

This position requires passing an extensive background check.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOJ Sensitive background clearance (Risk Level 4 SSBI).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a legal office environment.
  • Familiarity with CM/ECF electronic filing system.
  • Previous work supporting federal agencies or legal professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner
  • Excellent and accurate written communication
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required.
  • Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry.
  • Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately focusing on quality.
