The Role
Are you a dedicated veterinary professional with a passion for animal welfare and integrity in the racing industry We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to provide Operational Veterinary Services across race meetings trials out-of-competition testing and other integrity-related functions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of racing horses greyhounds and training properties to assess welfare and suitability for competition.
- Provide reports to Integrity division staff and escalate matters for investigation as necessary.
- Attend training facilities and properties to conduct out-of-competition sample collection alongside integrity staff.
- Assist in policy development compliance with racing rules and drug control measures.
- Maintain and operate an online training platform for official racing veterinarians and sample collection officers.
- Maintain welfare and drug control records ensuring key performance indicators are met.
- Provide expert technical advice at official inquiries regarding animal welfare and prohibited substances.
- Support integrity division strategic initiatives alongside the Head of Veterinary Services.
- Liaise with industry and non-industry participants on equine and canine welfare including therapeutic substance use and medication withdrawal times.
- Perform the role of official race day veterinarian as required in line with RWWAs procedures and the Rules of Racing.
- Oversee and train race day veterinarians and sample collection officers.
Qualifications :
About You
- Qualified veterinarian with a minimum of 3 years experience including experience in equine practice.
- Degree in Veterinary Science from an Australian University or equivalent veterinary qualification recognised in Australia and which is registrable in the State of Western Australia
- Demonstrated ability and experience in dispute resolution and negotiation through clear and concise communication to achieve a favourable outcome.
- Highly developed written computer and oral communication skills including good knowledge of the use of Microsoft outlook word and excel programs.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations and conditions including working under pressure.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends and travel including to regional race meetings as required.
- Current C class drivers licence.
