Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies**
Nature of Work
The fundamental reasonthis position exists is to perform supervised skilled civil engineering work in the field and office. The incumbents assisthigher level engineering employees in performing the daily tasksof the department. The essentialfunctions of the positionare: performs engineering field work;maintains records and prepares paperwork; performs draftingduties; assists with inspecting components of bridge structures; maintains all surveyequipment; and performson-site construction inspections. Work is usually performed with a CivilEngineering Technician III who checks for technical accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diplomaor GED and two years of experience in surveying. Courses in drafting andadvanced mathematics as well as experience using computer aided designequipment electronic datacollection equipment and/orconducting bridge/constructioninspections are preferable.
