Background
The School of Health Sciences is looking for a high level Senior Administrator/PA covering the full range of the Head of Department and senior management School and Deputy Head of School activities. This will involve working largely unsupervised on issues that require the exercise of judgement initiative and confidentiality and where it will be essential to be proactive in order to meet the tight deadlines that are a feature of the Institutes environment. The role requires excellent communication skills to facilitate the appropriate interaction with a wide range of people many of whom will be operating at a senior level within the College wider University and the external environment including the NHS.
The post holder forms part of the senior administrative support team within the School of Health Sciences with responsibility for ensuring appropriate support for all activities required of the Head of School and Deputy Head of School of Dentistry Department and is expected to work collaboratively with other post holders across the team and beyond to ensure effective support for core activities.
The Senior Administrator and PA within the School of Health Sciences will deliver comprehensive administrative support to the Head of the Dentistry Department. This role involves managing schedules coordinating meetings and handling correspondence. Additionally the Senior Administrator will undertake various administrative tasks within the Dentistry Department and collaborate with the broader administrative team as required.
Role Summary
As a Senior Administrator and PA within the Dentistry department you will provide support for a broad range of administrative duties some of which may be may also be responsible for managing other staff or for supporting colleagues and sharing will use your excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure the people you support are well prepared and that the tasks you carry out are completed to a high quality in a timely manner.

This role will require you to work independently on daily weekly and monthly tasks but also on projects with medium-longer-term horizons without daily supervision. You may manage other staffs workloads.

You will work under the direction of the senior manager you support but you will have a significant degree of autonomy. You will deal with the more complex queries and be expected to resolve any problems in your area of may also manage the workload of others or coach others to achieve will take day to day decisions on managing the diary emails preparing papers and booking travel.
Internal and External relationships
You will be liaising with a wide range of internal colleagues and stakeholders likely to be University-wide and with external stakeholders.
