TITLE: Director Esoteric ABS Structuring
DUTIES: The Bank of Nova Scotia seeks Director Esoteric ABS Structuring in New York NY to drive a customer-focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships systems and knowledge. Analyze the risk profile of transactions and put processes in place to manage those risks. Foster new and existing client relationships in addition to cross-selling existing relationships across other areas and product groups. Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the banks risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicate the banks risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout teams. Create an environment for teams to pursue effective and efficient operations in their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational compliance Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Automatic Transfer of Funds (ATF)/sanctions and conduct risk. Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts retains develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors. Communicate vision values and business strategy while managing succession and development planning for the team. Provide comprehensive collateral and structural analytics for ABS (Asset Backed Securities) conduit and term deals client pitches whole loan sales and portfolio valuations. Create propriety cashflow models covering existing and potential clients. Close interaction with banking coverage teams and key transaction parties like issuers syndicate trading rating agencies accountants and attorneys. Analytical support for credit applications through cash flow modeling and performance analysis using specialized skills and tools like Intex CAS and Excel VBA.
REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Finance or a related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: analyzing Collateral Data Tapes to create stratification tables replines performance data and tie out numbers with accountants and issuers utilizing CAS tool; evaluating new transaction collateral and rating agency criteria to determine most efficient bond structure; utilizing Intex DealMaker and Excel/VBA to optimize capital structures with targeted bond sizing and credit enhancements which pass rating agency stresses and provide best execution; negotiating enhancement levels and performance triggers with rating agencies to achieve desired ratings including working with agencies on new asset classes to help develop methodologies; running and tying-out collateral strats replines ysoc pricing cashflows and credit risk retention (CRR) with accountants; reviewing deal documents for completeness and work with lawyers to make required changes; and answering investor structural questions and facilitating their internal credit committee requests. 10% travel required nationally/internationally. FINRA Series 63 required. FINRA Series 7TO required. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting must report to work site. Offered salary is between $300000 and $300000 per year. 40 hours per week.
