This is entry level work serving as entrance to one of several technical career fields within the Department of Transportation
As part of this role you will engage in technical tasks designed to build your skills and knowledge in essential areas such as traffic planning and control materials sampling and testing construction oversight utility relocation map creation roadside inspections roadway maintenance management and materials control. Your assignments will be tailored to enhance your practical understanding of the technical details and foundational concepts relevant to these fields.
Work assignments will be aligned with your individual capabilities and growth with responsibilities clearly defined according to established standards and techniques. You will operate under the close supervision of a technical supervisor who will provide project assignments detailed instructions and ongoing reviews of your work to ensure quality technical development and adherence to established practices.
