Anglian Water is looking for a dedicated Biosecurity Advisor to lead our efforts in managing INNS and enhancing biosecurity across our operations. What youll be doing:
- Develop and implement Anglian Waters Biosecurity Plan Policy and Rapid Response Plan.
- Lead risk assessments to prioritise invasive species management and biosecurity investments.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of biosecurity infrastructure across operational and recreational sites.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and deliver INNS-related obligations under WINEP.
- Design and deliver awareness campaigns training and events to promote good biosecurity practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams and Biodiversity Champions to embed biosecurity into daily operations.
- Represent Anglian Water in national INNS forums and lead regional partnership projects.
- Drive research and innovation in INNS monitoring control and data recording.
- Build strong relationships with regulators NGOs and contractors to support shared environmental goals.
- Promote a culture of health safety and continuous improvement in all biosecurity-related activities.
What does it take to be successful
- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of INNS identification pathways and impacts
- Experience applying risk assessment for environmental decision-making
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Fieldwork experience in environmental or ecological settings
- Knowledge of UK conservation legislation and biosecurity best practices
- Takes initiative and speaks up for whats right
- Shares knowledge and learns from experience
- Shows empathy and supports team wellbeing
- Embraces innovation and continuous improvement
- Full UK Driving licence due to travel within the role
