Job Description

The Head of Employee Relations is a key member of the Human Resources team managing employee relations matters ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations and fostering a positive and productive work environment. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills deep understanding of labor law and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
As the role will have a BeNeLux scope we are flexible regarding the work location of this position (Brussels Rotterdam Eindhoven ..).



How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW

Employee Relations:

  • You participate in (HR) projects where the impact on social consultation or the socio-legal context is important.

  • You become a key HR partner for the managers & HR Business Partners bringing a new eyes and capacity to renovate the social dialogue and the local social industrial strategy

  • You help with the organization and smooth running of formal & informal social consultation (works council and union delegation) and you guide business stakeholders with regard to social consultation including through the animation /participation in the different Work Councils and unions meetings ( in Belgium and in NL)

  • You ensure the preparation negotiation & implementation of company collective labor agreements employment regulations and agreements

  • You develop and implement strategies to improve employee morale and engagement in a context of important business cultural and HR organization process and tools transformations

  • You provide guidance and develop policy for the disciplinary process ensuring fairness and consistency.

Social and Fiscal Law Expertise and Employee Benefits:

  • You stay up-to-date with all changes in local labor& fiscal laws and regulations thanks to an activity watch activity in the both geographies ( Bel and NL)

  • You ensure company policies and practices are compliant with legal requirements.

  • You advise the management & HR team on legal and regulatory issues related to employment and thanks to your local network brings continuous benchmark insights

  • You manage and respond to legal inquiries and claims related to employment.

  • You conduct internal audits to ensure compliance.

  • You design implement and administer Benefits projects that deliver an optimal employee experience

  • You evaluate and recommend changes to benefit plans based on employee needs market trends and cost analysis.

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.

  • Communicate and educate employees on HR policies and procedures.

  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies across the organization.

Knowledge:

  • Strong experience in employee relations and social law.

  • Experience and knowledge of Compensation & Benefits topics

  • In-depth knowledge of local labor & fiscal laws and regulations.

  • Languages: Working knowledge of Dutch French & English
